Description
Top Rope Brewing are a Liverpool based microbrewery & taproom who love putting hops in a headlock. With a focus on bold, modern styles with a wrestling twist, we brew a little something to keep everyone happy from Ice Cream Pale Ales to big Imperial Stouts, all whilst keeping things Vegan Friendly.

In mid 2024 the brewery became a partner of Legend Whisky which allowed the brewery to avoid ceasing its activities and to continue brewing.

Cask at Colmore, Birmingham. Clear gold, small creamy white head. Quite fruity to start with grapefruit and apricot and then a grassy, citric and spicy finish. Smooth medium body. Good.

440ml can. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut, maple. Taste is sweet, dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, maple, yeah all the advertised flavours are there, fairly sweet but there's a decent roasty bitterness, light booze warmth. Medium-full bodied, smooth. Really great.

Keg @ Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale. Very dark, not quite black, with a small light-brown head. Has some roasted malt, some raspberry too, but a wild floralness is dominant in both aroma and taste.

Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Mildly hazed light golden brew with a small head. Sweet pineapple is equally strong in both aroma and taste, similar in aftertaste. As a tasting notes sour ale this style is hardly noticeable.

Cask @ Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale. Dark copper-amber with a head. Malty but floral heavy. Its traditional Scottish ale influence is definitely there although I can't quite tell if this brew is on the turn or not as its deep floral aftertaste is not appealing at all.
