2014. Een kleine groep enthousiaste bierliefhebbers en een droom ontmoeten elkaar. Dat die lief konden hebben bleek wel! Dat ze dromen konden verwezenlijken ook! Inmiddels bestaat het brouwteam uit 7 toegewijde mensen met brouwer Rob Bours, destijds huurbrouwer ‘Brasserie Bours’, aan het creatieve roer. Samen met David Hendrich, schrijver van het boek ‘historische brouwerijen van Eindhoven’, en oprichter van Eijkenrode bier hebben zij Brouwerij 100 Watt het leven ingeblazen.
In 2023 bundelden we onze krachten met niemand minder dan van Moll en Stadsbrouwerij 013 om samen een gloednieuwe brouwerij te creëren, onder de naam Lighttown Brewers. We kijken uit naar een stralende toekomst vol smaakvolle avonturen. Proost op wat komen gaat!

33 cl. bottle @ 100 Watt, Eindhoven. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Roasted malts aroma with some caramel and some dark fruits. Taste is suitably bittersweet and the body is decent. Solid if not spectacular stout.

25 cl. glass @ 100 Watt, Eindhoven. Dark brownred to black with a tan head. Good strong hop aroma with roasted malts. Taste is medium bitter with a long bitter finish. Solid black IPA.

33 cl. bottle @ Grand Café Centraal, Eindhoven. Dark brown with no head at all. Caramel aroma with some spiciness. Taste is bittersweet with a decent amount of carbonation which is a bit strange given that it has no head. A tasty dubbel nonetheless.

Fles gekregen van Roelzie1986, geprobeerd met Lieke. Het is een zwarte IPA met een donkerrode gloed. Het heeft een lekker hoppige smaak, waarin het geroosterde mout goed naar voren komt.

Bottle @ Home courtesy of Fonefan, thanks! Pours black with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, light caramel, light coffee, milk chocolate, lactose, little fruity hops. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, malty, coffee, chocolate, cocoa. Medium body, average carbonation. 071216

Bottle, BB 03.2017? (from hiet beermoment). Pours dark amber with whiteish head. Aorma is sweet, caramel, grease, grass, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, citrus, malt. Finish is burnt sugar-dry and citrus bitterness. Some booze is showing. Overall: drinkable, gets harder as I drink it (started from 3.x rating), too harsh for my palate.

Bottle shared at Gekke Geit, The Hague. Black with a small thick beige head. Aroma of malt, vanilla, chocolate, fudge, toffee, coffee and the sorachi ace coming out a little. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.
