Cask at the Steamboat Inn, Carsethorn, near Dumfries. Deep reddish-amber with an off-white head. It's got an intense and peculiar flavour - toffee apple, cheap red wine and creosote. It's heady and the alcohol is very evident - it tasted far stronger than it actually was. I'm intrigued by the intensity of the flavours, but I'm far from certain that the brewer intended it to be that way. I also couldn't decide if I liked it or not - on balance I think probably not. It was certainly hard going.

Cask at the Steamboat Inn, Carsethorn, near Dumfries. Pale amber with a white head. A light taste at first grows (like any decent bitter) into something that's actually quite more-ish. Light florals, biscuit and a touch of wood, with a dry and moderately bitter finish.

Cask at the Steamboat Inn, Carsethorn, near Dumfries. Yellowy-gold with a white head. Very fruity up front (over-ripe apples), developing into sweet lemon and orange. Maybe a bit too sweet by the end actually, but I quite enjoyed it nevertheless.

Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF 2020 Winter, Iron Bridge Bar. Near black in the glass, covering beige head, clingy lacing. Moderate smell of nuts and cocoa. Earthy malts to the taste character, hints of cocoa powder. Roasted ending, dry. Pretty decent porter. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

Thin beige head left a froth on a reddish brown still body. Jam malt & spice aroma. Medium bodied, soft & creamy on the palate with a sharp clean back. Well balanced tastes of malt, tea, fruity, light hops & long tangy finish. Standard Bitter
