Description
We are Oedipus Brewing. Founded by four friends in Amsterdam, we’re always ready to go where our taste buds take us. Oedipus is about fun, energy and doing things differently. We create fantastical beers to reveal to the world that beer is a magical beverage: tasty, exciting and for everyone. Welcome to our universe 🖖🏽

Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.

The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

A golden beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has strong fruitness of citrus, some grain. Taste has citrus, some grain, medium bitterness. Medium bodied. Pretty nice.

Keg at the brewery tap Amsterdam. A light hazed pale yellow coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is weird parrafin, lemon, tea leaves.. Flavour is tart lemon, light grains, lemon rind, crisp, thin. Tea leaves. Lime zest. Parrafin. Palate is crisp, fine carbonation. Ok

Keg at the brewery tap Amsterdam. A translucent golden coloured pour with a a sticky lasting white head. Aroma is nice fragnant lemon, and pine, clean light wheat, bready, light dull, puck. Flavor is composed of semi sweet, lemon rind, sorachi, soft wheat, light grassy. Palate is soft, light moderate light carbonation. Really drinkable.

Keg at the brewery tap Amsterdam. A light hazed golden coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is nice light tart fresh lemon rind, juice fresh. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, light grains, fresh lemon rind juicy. Palate is light tart, crisp, apple, highish carbonation. Powdery. Nice.

Keg at the brewery tap Amsterdam. A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is floral, ginger, ginger fragnant, lemon, floral citrus. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, hint of sorachi, dried cittus. Galangal, some alcohol. Palate is semi crisp spicy, moderate carbonation.

Keg at the brewery taproom Amsterdam. A mostly clear mid orange coloured pour with a a sticky white head. Aroma is herbal citrus hop, simple base malts lime zest. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, little dill, midget gems. Lemon rind, Base malts. Paalte is semi sweet, rounded moderate carbonation.

Flavour is composed of crisp, light bready grains, clean, apple, crisp. Palate is clean and crisp, semi sweet, highish carbonation. Fine.

Tap at the brewery taproom. Amsterdam. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is phenol, smoked malts, tcp oily, some rubber. Flavour is composed of thick tar, black roast, treacle, spicy pine, medical smoked malts, burnt sugars. Palate is semi sweet. Creamy, oily, moderate carbonation. Robust roasty finish.
