Description
The Edinburgh Beer Factory is a family run, independent brewery launched in 2015 to make people think again about beer and Scotland. Founded by the Dunsmore family, we’ve grown to great big family of 20+ team members.

Like Edinburgh we’re creative, inventive and outward-looking. We combine old and new ideas and techniques to create beers of beauty.

Inspired by the Edinburgh-born ‘Father of Pop Art’ Eduardo Paolozzi, we showcase the art of brewing. Paolozzi took everyday objects and transformed them into works of art; we take overlooked and underestimated beer styles and present them at their beautiful best.

Can from Appellation Wines, Comely Bank. Appearance - golden with a light haze. Nose - sweetcorn and cooked greens. Light citrus. Taste - light spice, lemon and pale malt. Palate - creamy texture, dry finish. Light bodied. Overall - while this is unfiltered, there isn't an awful lot of cloudiness, so it comes through similar to the original, with possibly a touch more texture.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. It pours light hazy golden with a triumphant foamy white head. The aroma is toasty grain, cereal, hay, smoked malt, some green banana, creaminess and clove rock. The taste is dry, bitter, smoked hay, toasty grain, cereal, wheat bread, some soapy citrus, green banana, melon and spice through the finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Actually the smoke works quite well. Decent stuff.

Bottled from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Had this many times but somehow no rating?!?!??! Appearance - golden with a slight haze. Generous fluffy head. Nose - tangy banana, a whiff of smoked cheese. Taste - definitely dominated by the hefeweizen notes. Loads more creamy banana, light spice. The smoke lightly smoulders and gradually becomes more pronounced as you go down the glass. Palate - medium bodied and creamy, elegant, dry smoky finish. Overall - lovely stuff. Clever too!
