Pours a brown black from a tap, medium lacing. Aroma is an acrid burnt toast along with general roasted notes. Flavor is a burnt sugar, rather sweet with a bitter beginning. Okay beer.

Draft sample at the source. Slightly hazy deep golden color with a thin tightly bubbled off white head. Resinous pine and citrus with hints of orange on the nose and faint bready malt deep underneath. Flavor follows the aroma quite well. Somewhat dry but in a good way. lingering mild resinous bitterness with a hint of citrus. Pretty nice variation, and honestly I may have to revisit the base beer, I don’t remember it being so tasty!

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark brown color with an off white foamy head. Sustained nicely and fell off at a good pace. Moderate messy lacing.
The aroma started off with some dark and milk chocolate nibs biting at some bitter orange-ish hops. Subtle breadiness revolving around some extra grassy hops, sweetly and bitter. Very nice.
The flavor blends the sweet to the bitter very nicely between the chocolate malts and the orangey hops. Quick semi-sweet to bitter aftertaste roaming into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Hops don’t create too much of a burdensome harshness and the malts seem embraced enough by the hops, so, there’s nothing cloying nor overly harsh on my tongue. Super nice smoothness if anything.
Overall, wonderful American styled brown ale with the hops showcasing enough towards the American side. I would definitely have this again.

Bottle received in a trade with Mcox90. Pitch black color, no head. Aroma is light roast, minor bourbon, strong Oak.

Flavor is good with the above oak, roast however the bourbon is almost nonexistent. The body is also really lean. Mouthfeel could be smoother. Way to thin for the style. Reminds me more of a imperial porter.Still pretty enjoyable

Taster pour at the source. Appearance is cloudy orange-yellow with a small white head fading to ring quickly, nice sparkle, fair lacing. Taste is malt base with tropical fruit. Aroma is tropical fruit. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation and mix of sweet fruit and bitter finish. Overall, a nice IPA with a good malt balance to the hops but the hop profile is fairly one dimensional.
