Cask at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear yellow with a white foam head. The nose has minerals, rindy citrus. Light sweet flavor with pale bread, flinty minerals, grainy, hay and grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Grassy on the finish, with dry pale malt sugars. OK.

This was poured into a thistle.
The appearance was a dark brown color with dark amber to reddish hues stringing themselves in and around the color. A one to two finger white foamy head started and dissipated within about a minute. Lacing was fairly sticky and messy.
The smell started off with dried dark fruits. The smoke and peat was extremely light. Even a light cocoa entered in nicely to balance.
The taste was moderately sweet through the blend of the dried dark fruit and carrying a nice touch into a dry sticky fruity aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs extremely smooth and light. Malts really come about to leave a sweet sticky smoothness running over my tongue.
Overall, this was a nice Scotch ale that I would have again. Might even be a nice dessert session.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours clear pale gold with a small, bubbly white head. The nose is soft, sweet citrus, oily, yellow plum, grapefruit, soft apple and pear. The taste is bitter, straw, peppery, cracker, dough, grass, floral notes and mild astringency with a pretty dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, bitter and bone dry on the finish. Decent enough.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry, low carbonation. Mild floralness, whisper of citric hop. Light dry finish. Modest pithy bitter linger. It’s a bit staid but fine.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Dedham, 5/7/15. Clear dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, raisin, mild smoke. The taste is caramel, toffee, smoke, bits of stone fruit. Medium bodied, low carbonation and bitterness. Decent.

Bottle from Epsom Circle Market, Epsom NH. Aroma is bready malts and yeasty dough. Appearance is clear, orange brown with minimal sparkle, minimal head that quickly dissipates and negligible lacing. Taste is moderately sweet with only hint of very mild bitterness. Palate is medium bodied with slick texture, average carbonation that supports the beer but doesn’t compete for attention. Finish is long and sweet. Overall, a good representative of the style, pretty straightforward aroma and taste with pleasing enough appearance and palate.

Pours a light amber from the tap. Nice floral hop aroma alon with some caramel maltiness. Flavor is a rather sweet IPA with a hit of bitterness on the backside. Okay beer.
