Draft @ Amesbury Ale House. Snifter shows a hazy, dirty gold color. Good head retention. Nose is all malt, sweet caramel and bread. Flavor is citrus/grapefruit notes with loads of caramel malt. Large amounts of rich malt gives plenty of sweetness; really way too much sweetness. Cloying. Mouthfeel is syrupy and sticky. I can also taste a touch of alcohol. I really was in the mood for a blast of hops when I ordered this, how completely disappointing! Well, you may like it if you like sweet, boozy IPAβs.

Pours a solid dark brown color with a faint garnet highlight when held to light. Decent sized tan head quickly dissipates to a cap. Smells of roasted and cereal grains, milk chocolate, caramel, a hint of earthy hops. The flavor is rich and dark chocolate up front with a hint of vanilla and caramel. Light earthy hop flavor with little to no hop bitterness. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a creamy, silky smooth mouthfeel. This is a nice sweet stout, I enjoyed it.

Draft @ Ale House in Amesbury, MA. Dirty amber in color with thin white head. Nose is just caramel malt. Caramel starts of the flavors with lots of sugar and malt with just a wisp of wood. Yeast shows itself as the brew warms. I also get notes of maple syrup. Medium in body with a short clean finish. Overall, I was hoping for a bit more however, itβs not a bad brew in any aspect.
