On tap at the source. Solid black with a decent tan head that persists. Chocolate caramel and earth with a decent amount of peanut buttery goodness. This was my favorite of the 3 but I would have like just a touch more PB flavor.

On tap at the source. Solid black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Chocolate caramel and earth with a faint but present coffee aroma and taste. The coffee is a bit too subtle imho.

Pint at the source. Deep reddish auburn color with a fair amount of haze and a frothy off white head that shows good retention. Rich bready pilsner maltiness with slight hints of light fruit. Initially I thought the spicy hop bite was a bit overdone for the style, but my palette adjusted quickly and I enjoyed the hell out of this pint, and the company!

Can from the beer store in nashua. Big black pour with a pillowy head. Smells mildly of vanilla. Robust flavors but never over the top. However, I do detect some urges to become imperial. Remains well behaved. Has shades of chocolate in the end. Not bad for a dark beer.

Got this can from the beer store in Nashua. Really good choco milk nose. Nice thick creamy head. Mild stout taste backed by hints of chocolate. As session continues, the choco reinserts itself. Fairly flat in its presentation. Gentle, not bitter.

Tap at Great North. Slightly hazy light golden color with a decent bubbly white head that persists. Bready toasty malt with bits of earthy citrus and pine to counter. Clean tasty well made beer.

16 oz. can. Canning dated 1/10/17. Nice clarity in a golden liquid. Fine steady carbonation. Aroma orange peel, light floral, and a steady amount of pine.
The flavor shows pine forward with the citrus hints in the center. The can doesn’t sate the ABV but it does show some booze. The bitterness is lasting with caramel malt balance. Body is medium with a slight sticky caramel mouthfeel. Pretty old school but good.

12 oz. can purchased at Greg &Jane’s, Epping, NH. Pitch black color, thin mocha colored head. Aroma reminds me of Hersey’ cocca powder, mild roast, sugar.
Mouthfeel had a nice smoothness, creamy. Body is proper for the gravity of the stout. Lingering sweet chocolate in the finish. Nice example of the style.

Sharp rind aroma here with a little pine like you miss your mother. Pours orange with good initial head and some lacing. Bitter finish. Can thanks to johnnniiiieee.
