Pours deep gold into a snifter. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Pine and resin aromas. Medium bodied with hot caramel and pine upfront turning to citrus and resin in the hot lasting finish.

Keg at Lui Lui’s - West Leb, NH. Pours clear, rich gold with a foamy, white head. Moderate bready malts in the nose, some ripening citrus, orange peel. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of grassy bitterness, melon, but of mango, orange, pine. Meridian bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with mild piney resin, pale bread, grass, ripe orange, rindy and grassy bitterness, hints of tropical fruits. Good, assertive IPA.

Draft at Dover Location of the Thirsty Moose. Crystal clear yellow / orange color with lasting head. Really great aroma of tropical fruit, pine, and notes of weak grass. The flavor is identical to the aroma. Malt to balance the hops without becoming sweet. Grapefruits, grassy, onion. The bitterness is here but does not linger long. Pine in essence. This is really good! Well made.

Growler from the brewery shared with the family tonight. Dark brown color with a decent sized bubbly tan head that shows moderate retention. Rich bready caramel and chocolate maltiness with a huge hit of vanilla that melds into some light sugary molasses, oak and just a touch of blow the man down. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a silky creamy smooth mouthfeel. The rum barrel is extremely subtle, I honestly would have liked a bit more, but it is really quite tasty!

Taster pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is pinkish hue, cloudy, small ring of foamy white head, nice lacing. Aroma is fruit, yeast. Taste is fruit, yeast, tart, sweet. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average-to-lively carbonation with yeasty, fruity cranberry finish. Overall, light and refreshing with a nice mix of sweet and tart fruit.

Keg pour into taster cup at NH Brewfest. Appearance is yellow with no sparkle, thin ring of white head. Aroma is pleasant malts, a little bit of corn--nice. Taste is dominant pine, mild citrus, mild bitter--very different from aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with average carbonation, pine/corn bitter-dominant finish. Overall, good but perhaps miscategorized as a wheat ale. Interesting difference between aroma and taste.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy light yellow with a frothy white heads that persists. Spicy earthy light pepper on the nose with some solid citrus hops to counter and a bit of sweet and spicy bready maltiness to bring it all together. The flavor is sweet bready with a hint of spice on the malt side. Solid citrus tropical and earthy pine hop flavor counters the light peppery yeasty spice nicely. Pretty solid Saison, I would have liked a hint more peppery spice out of the yeast but I quite enjoyed it as is.

On cask at the source. Slightly hazy auburn color with a frothy rocky white head that persists. The cedar adds a few shades of color and its very evident in a side by side viewing. Spicy peppery earthy resinous nose with very little malt evident. The cedar is front and center on the nose and flavor for me although others I socialized with didn’t find it as pungent. The flavor is earthy peppery spicy rye like with a faint herbal almost patchouli flavor. Faint sweet bready malt deep underneath. Its an interesting and well made beer, but something in my palette seems to fixate on the spiciness of the cedar and hides everything else in the beer for me.

Draft. A amber-brown color with one finger head and some lacing. Mild grainy aroma with caramel. Smelled like it was going to be too sweet, it wasn’t overly so. Grainy, caramel malts with a toasted/nutty presence. Decent level of sweetness/toasted grain balance. Light body. Subtle hop profile. Enjoyable.

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown bordering on black with a good sized long lasting mocha head. Big nutty nose with light roast and moderate chocolate. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, light carbonation. The vanilla seems to get hidden by the hazelnut, but I’m okay with that, Pretty damn tasty beer.
