Pour is a bright yellow with a big white head. Aroma Is musty and malty. Flavor is a a bit weak and watery but you do get some wheat and hops in there Just nothing to stand out. Its refreshing and that’s about it.

I bought a case of this back in 2000. Somehow a bottle managed to get into my Parent’s liquor cabinet and sat there forgotten all these years. So I put it in the fridge this weekend to see how it had held up. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large dark brown head. The aroma is spicy and has a strong spruce presence. The flavor is bitter and spicy with spruce as the main flavor element. The beer is medium bodied and has a sweet sprucy finish.

Bottled. Copper colour, mediumsized longlasting creamy head. Fruit and malt in aroma with flowery and hoppy notes. Sweet citric malty flavour with hoppy finish. Fruit and hops in aftertaste. Very nice.

Rather unpleasant when it is cold. Strange bitterness and lager yeast flavors. As it warms it becomes more rounded and the bitterness relaxes a bit and it becomes drinkable. Not a very pleasant flavor to follow the nice herbal/fruity aroma.

Amber with minimal head. Hops dominate flavoring which is extremely well-balanced as far as fruit (some citrus), sweetness (very little), malt and, of course, hops. One of those beers that really pulls everything together with a nice balance and good finish.

Bottled. Black opaque, brown huge foamish head. Fruitish and roasted aroma, with some caramellish hints. Sweetish banana flavour at first, and the sweetness grows in finish and then turns into a grapefruitish dryness in aftertaste. Mouthdrying.

(Bottle 65 cl) "Small Beer" has the same brewing history as what we used to call "thin beer" in Denmark a hundred years ago: giving the remaining mash from top-product Old Foghorn a second go. Amber coloured with a slight haze, a very small head is left on top of the beer. Very bitter, not much sweetness to detect here. And naturally not much body either. But quite fresh and quenching.

It has been years since I have had this beer. I had it a number of times before but did not remember it well. I decided to try one again for rating purposes. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a medium sized yellow-tan head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a nice flowery hop note. The beer is surprisingly dry with a light body and a dry flowery hop finish. Overall there was more character than I remembered but this is not one of my preferred styles.
