On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Nearly black colour, ruby in the highlights. Moderate beige head. "Very English" malty aroma with a measured roastiness, notes of chocolate and mild coffee, hints of fresh woodwork. Roasty flavour, dark bitter chocolate and coffee notes. On the dry side, but not extremely so. Moderate bittering hops in the finish. Decent beer.

Sampled at Gunnfryds Barmy Army New Year’s ticker party 2017. Clear amber body with a medium sized tan head, looking great. Aroma is caramel malt, toast and a little hint of wood somehow. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with light fruit, toast and a bit harsh bitterness. Medium body and sweet caramel aftertaste with some bitterness. Decent traditional macro brewery style Christmas beer, drinkable but noting exiting.

Bottle. It’s a clear, copper colored beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with chocolate, coffee and toast. Nougat. It’s medium bodied, quite dry and with a decent carbonation. It’s roasted, nougat-ish and nutty, with some chocolate. Long roasted finish. A bit dry for a Christmas beer I think. 170107

From tap at DSJT at Cardinal 13.11.16. Pale copper. Dense off-white head and lacing. Moderate aroma. Unharmonious taste of caramel, biscuits, rye bread and berries. Berries and biscuits in aftertaste.

Small white head. Clear still coppery body. Resiny tropical fruit aroma with acidic vinegary notes. Floral peachy aroma with tropical fruit notes. Dryish tropical fruit and pineapple taste with coppery notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, slightly flat metallic notes. Dryish mealy tropical fruit and pineapple aftertaste. Niceish, but very mealy and low-alcohol. (0.33l bottle, from ... not sure where. Somewhere in Oslo region.)

Flaske 500ml fra Gulating Tromsø. Drukket hjemme 3 Nov 16. Lys gylden. Svakt uklar. Middels høyt skum med litt lacing. God, lett syrlig fruktaroma. Smaken fersken. Litt tørr etter hvert. Uklar siste kvelling. Litt bunnfall.
