From can at Remko's bierproefavond. Didn't take notes, enjoyed nice beers and good company. What I do remember: What to say about this 'beer'...? I'm no fan of Pastry Sours, I'm no fan of beer that doesn't taste like beer. It does taste like Apple Pie though. Had some fun to drink this 'beer' at this evening but no need to drink again. On to the next one...

A very dark brown beer with a beige lacing. Aroma of mid sweet dark malt, chocolate, almonds. Taste of mid sweet chocolate, caramel, almonds, a bit thin.

Süffiger, dunkel malzgier Beginn, überraschend geringe Süße. Leicht erhöhte Viskosität, wenig Kirsche und Marzipan, dagegen deutlich alkoholisch im Hintergrund. Langweilig. 9/6/8/6/9/7

Deep red-brown beer with a small beige rim. Blackcurrant, cassis syrup, other dark fruits - indeed probably blueberries or billberries. Sweet, again dark berries, bit blackcurrant drops or -gums. Faint liquorice, slight berry acidity. Thick, chewy MF. Warming, soft carbonation. If all "pastry stouts" would be as this one, I'd be a great fan of the "style". Txs to Stef!

Can. Color: Slightly hazy lghtly pinkish golden, lightly pinkish off-white head. Aroma: Malty, spicy notes, subtle vinuous notes. Taste: Follows the aroma. Barley malt, spicy notes and subtle red wine notes. Sugary hints. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Ok but no excitement, unfortunately.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Huge coconut aroma with the bourbon gradually creeping in. Full and boozy with notes of chocolate, roast, caramel, vanilla, more coconut. Smooth velvety mouthfeel. I suppose anything's better with coconut. A bit boozy, but lovely.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Maple upfront with dark malt, soft bourbon, caramel, toffee, big maple. Medium sweet flavour, bit sticky, medium to full body. Bourbon and maple in the finish. Not bad at a modest 8.7%.
