Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, bourbon, and soy sauce, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of adnielsen. Pours an opaque pitch black with a small light brown head. Sweet and pleasant Bourbon aroma atop some smooth roast. Rich body, soft vanillaish roast, some bitter chocolate and again quite some Bourbon. Never overdone though. Warming alcohol. Pleasant. 140712

An IPA from the German-style brewery? - I guess it had to happen sooner or later - lightly hazy copper - minimal lace - lean, clean pale maltiness up front, followed by very fruity and floral hop notes, followed by moderate bitterness - the sweetness never leaves the palate, though - some tropical fruit notes throughout as a result - not bad, but why make an IPA when everyone else is doing it, especially if German brews are your forte?

A love a well made dark mild, which this is, for the most part - very dry, with a lot of dry roasted nut character, light cocoa, light fruitiness - a touch of maple sweetness on the tail end, as well as lightly fruity hops - fairly well done.

Clear dark copper - fairly smooth and light bodied - moderate esters and some caramelized sugars - moderate doughiness - minimal hop character - lingering caramelized sugars and a bready malt profile - nice beer.

Clear straw color - nose of honeyed maltiness and light noble hops - light body, but fairly creamy in the mouth - a nice ms of light esters, medium sweet honey character and grassy hop notes - a little sweet for a Helles, seeming a bit more like a heller bock, but still a good brew.

Turbid gold pour - full carbonation - lit in body and flavor - quite a bit of lemony character up front - this is followed by some light phenols, mostly in the form of pepper and a touch of banana - pretty light and kind of disappointing, especially from this brewer.
