Pours deep hazy gold into a Sam glass. White soapy head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Tangerine and resin aromas. Medium bodied and sharply bitter front to back. Lasting astringent finish. Not very well balanced.

22oz bottle Pours a deep copper color with a beige head that quickly dissipates to a cap a leaves minimal lacing. Smells faintly of citrus hops, dark dried fruit, brown sugar and a hint of alcohol and caramel. Taste is a bit harsh with ethanol, sugary dark fruit dipped in grapefruit juice. Medium body and carbonation level with a sweet sticky mouthfeel. Another expensive bomber from Moat Mountain that didn’t wow me. Decent beer, but kind of boring, one and done here.

2024 9.5% Version. Pours hazy deep gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Hot caramel and yeast aromas. Thick with sweet honey and golden syrup upfront turning to banana before the warming, cloying lasting finish. This version is an improvement. 7/24/2011 8.9% Version. Pours clear deep gold into a snifter. White head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Candi and banana aromas. Thick and sweet with candi, caramel, and candy corn upfront. Turning thin and peppery before the cloying yeast bomb finish. 6/3/6/3/12 = 3.0

Bottle # 390 Brew # 1162. Slow poor into a snifter produced large foamy, thick, abundant off white head. Head covers the snifter on the way down. Nose of slight alcohol and malt. Taste is roasted malt with a hint of chocolate in the finish. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy. Medium almost full bodied. I paid $13.99 for this bottle, we think $14 could be spent on a much better brew.

No nose. Large spotty spiderweb lacing. Color deep amber not quite brown. Taste has nuttiness roasted malt with a hop backbone. Medium mouthfeel, some what medium body low carbonation. Noticeable dry finish. Well put together.
