Cask at Basingstoke Oktoberfest. Flying the flag. Aroma is sweet and caramel. Opaque brown. Thin foamy off-white head gets blotchy. Light-medium citrus with light malty caramel. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat prickly carbonation. Long dry finish. Nice but unexciting.

Bottle ordered from Twisted Crow, Basingstoke. Aroma has a berry tartness followed by malts and grains. Light chestnut. Frothy white head. Sour. Berries and citrus. Underlying malts. A touch of boiled veg. Light bodied. Thin but benefits soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent. I guess they've attempted to get around the low ABV with the sour streak but it's ultimately a thin and not entirely satisfying beer.

Bottle ordered from Twisted Crow, Basingstoke. Aroma combines a sweet almost vanilla creaminess with berries and coffee. Opaque near black. Foamy light beige head. Sour tangy berry impact. The edge is smoothed out by a touch of creamy malts. Light bitter edge. Light bodied. Relatively thin with a touch of cream. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice enough.

Half-pint, cask ale at Alehouse. Shared with Finn. jet black in the glass, bubbly beige head, fragile lacing. Dark bread on the nose, lightly roasted, promising. Creamy malts with vague moments of anise to the taste profile. Ashy palate. Roasted endnotes. Okay porter version, not more. (Reading 20.10.2019)

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Vague herby aroma. Copper gold. Blotch translucent white head. Medium bitter. Chock full of herbs. Light bodied. Thin but slick. Flat carbonation. Long herby finish. It's OK but basic.
