Cask, from stillage, at the first beer festival at the Cannie Man, Bracknell. A pitch coloured pour with a loose white head; the aroma has some well roasted malts, giving traces of coffee and chocolate; the mouth feel is slightly thin, but there’s an excellent balance of flavours, a treacly, demerara sugar sweetness is balanced by a dry toasted oat dryness; there are some leafy hops adding a touch of freshness, but the finish is predominantly malty, with some lingering sugars and toast. Very pleasant.

Cask, from stillage, at the first beer festival at the Cannie Man, Bracknell. An attractive copper coloured pour; light fruit aroma; fruity taste with some caramel; and a leafy bitterness to finish. the hops are certainly there, but not as assertively as I’d expect in an APA. Nevertheless, a very pleasant, moreish, pint.
