Ok, so maybe there wasn’t a drug lord involved, but he was Columbian. And at least we have your attention now…
Anyway, Fortnight Brewing Company really was the brainchild of two friends from Yorkshire and a Columbian. (The Geordie came a bit later.) Work brought the Brits to the States, but it unfortunately didn’t bring along with them any of the classic English beer they enjoyed back home, not to mention that iconic British pub. So, like any hardworking (and headed) Yorkshiremen would do, they built it in their new backyard. Take one step into our taproom, with its rich mahogany, aristocratic portraiture, and loquacious regulars, you’ll be singing “God Save the Queen” in no time.
But no amount of tasteful décor and perfectly executed cask ale can change the fact that this is still America. We like our beer like we like our men: eclectic. (What did you think I was going to say?!)
Rest assured, America, we’ve got you covered. Sure, you can pop into the pub for an imperial pint of the finest English porter this side of the pond, but you can also follow that up with an American IPA that would make George Washington blush. Or a kombucha ale. Or a kettle soured ale. Or a barrel aged ale. Or a crisp, clean lager. Or a pastry stout that will actually make you believe you’re drinking dessert. We’re British; we’re not one trick ponies. Cheers!
