Tap at brewery during trivia night. A straightforward english pale ale. nose is bitter hops and some grains. mild bitterness, earthy, some biscuits, grainy, light mandarin oranges, and some tea. oats add a bit of smoothness to otherwise bitter palate. clean tasting

Tap at the Brewery as part of trivia night. figure start with the low abv stuff and i need more mild ale rates so alas here we go. pours light brown with soapy head. nose is faint toast but it is a mild. tastes of toast, grains, light caramel, brown sugar, hint of detergent. mild flavors and nice palate. enjoyable.

64oz growler from Superstar Beverage Huntington. Pours a clear amber with some creamy, lacing eggshell head. Nose is solid, classic NW pale ale nose, lemon, orange, mild pine, soap, mild tangerine. No real malt in the nose. Flavor has some sweetness, a little bit of dried fruit, some cracker, then the hops come through, heavy pine, some soap, orange, lemon. Dry, bitter finish. Very nice.

At the brewpub: Pours light orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, melon, and pale malts. Taste is lightly bitter. Nice yeasty touch. Easy to drink. This is a plenty good session beer. Nothing all that outstanding though.

At the brewpub: Pours dark orange, hazy with a white head. Aroma is a lot of frutiness, kind of like a tripel. Lots of hops are there too. Taste is similar. It is rather dry with an underlying hop bitterness. Prenty of fruit. Moderate sweetness. Not bad.

At the brewpub: Pours black with a loose off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts and anise. This beer is notable for being very anise heavy. Body is rather light. Roasted malts. Kind of dry. Plenty of anise in the middle and the finish. Easy to drink, but certainly not for everyone.

Dirck the Norseman, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is farmhouse, sugar, and citrus. I don’t really taste any rhubarb tartness in here, well maybe a little. This is more of a sweet and spicy saison. It is not bad though. I am surprised at the relatively low ratings.

Dirck the Norseman, Brooklyn tap: Pours a nice brownish color with an off-white head. Aroma is light English hops coupled with a nice caramel malt backbone. Taste is nice and actually bitter. The body, even for the low alcohol, is nice and full. Great balance throughout. One of the better bitters I have ever had. On point.

Dirck the Norseman, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with a nice white head. Aroma is apple, fruit, farmhouse, pilsner malts. Taste has some saison tang. The finish is pretty mineral-water like. Not really dry, but interesting. Taste at the front is more lightly sweet. Pretty good.
