Tipple's Brewery was founded in 2004 by me, Jason Tipple. I was bored with my career in financial services and decided it was time for a change. So in October 2003 I resigned and then had to find some way to earn a living! Some say I should have done that the other way round...

In September 2004 after lots of research and with a passion for good beer, Tipple's Brewery (and my oldest daughter!) was born..

In 2019, Stuart Robinson and Paul Adams joined the business to provide strategic business and investment support.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Xmas Tasting. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose is bitter – sweet, Eccles cake, burnt toast, dark fruits, light spice and earth. The taste is bitter, toasty, some acidity, Eccles cake, chewy malt, quite a lot of tangy tang, some spice and alcohol heat with a dry, fruity finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Far too tangy for my liking. Basic.

Bottle split at Chriso pre Xmas tasting, 06/12/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, tangy dark fruits, spice, brown bread, earthy, toffee. Taste comprises tarte fruit rinds, liquorice tickle, spice, funky fruit tones, treacle toffee. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok old skool UK impy affair.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy topping. The nose holds burnt cereal, light chocolate, dark berries and wood. Light sweet flavor with tart dark fruits, earth, further wood. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tangy berries in the finish, faint rubber, earth, chocolate. Perhaps a light infection is sinking in? So so overall.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with a short lived tan head. Aromas of light roast, light yeast tang, chocolate. Taste is blackcurrant, chocolate, tangy finish.

Bottle. Appearance - Opaque black with a decent thin head. Nose - chocolate and slightly winey. Taste - dark chocolate and red fruits. Nuts on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced finish. Overall - I enjoyed this.

Bottle split at LKS ’Beers of London’ Tasting, high up thanks to Kenny 10/12/14. Mahogany brown with moderate off white spotting. Nose is aniseed, dark malts, winter cheer, caramel, spice. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, spice, toffee, raisens, dried fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but doesn’t pack much of a punch in the depth department ABV considered.

Bottle from the Beers of Europe Christmas case. Dark brown pour with a whisper of a white head. Aromas of Christmas pudding, vanilla, sultanas and fig.. a good start.. puts me in a Christmas mood. The flavour unfortunately doesn’t reflect that nice aroma in any way, shape or form. The flavours are vinegar, dust and black berries..strange. Yet another bloody flat bodied, lifeless Christmas brew.

Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Clear red - amber beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Mild malts. Pretty tangy dried fruits. Carmel - toffee, slightly salty. Mild tangy orange and well integrated cinnamon. Finishes light with the tangy orange turning almost sherbet - sour. Light finish. Interesting!

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown to black with red chinks. Nae heid! Nose - soor plumes, quite winey generally. Cake too! Taste - more plum juice and cinammon on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry and sour finish. Overall - very strange, was it supposed to be a Flemish Red style beer, because I wasn’t expecting sourness!

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe, shared with AshtonMcCobb. Pours murky brown, thin beige head. Aromas of sour fruit, plums, light sulphur note. Vinous taste, partly down to the light sourness, raisins, cinnamon, clove, cake. Not sure it’s meant to be this sour but it kinda works.
