Gravity dispense at the LBA fest at Le Gothique, 24/07/14. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is light citric, bready, musty, green apple. Taste comprises green apple, bready malt, light spice, caramel, musty. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, seemed a little tired despite this being the first day of the festival!

Cask handpull at The George on The Strand. Clear gold thin bubbly white head. It’s an ok golden ale. Not too exciting. Some peach and apricot flavours. Not in great condition but its got some hop sting. It’s fine even quite likeable. Ok bitterness on the finish.

Cask handpull at The George on The Strand. Clear chestnut. Ok best bitter. Ok malt and hop and yeast. Straight up best bitter. Bit of pepper hop on the finish. Ok.

Cask handpull at The George Aldwych. Hazy gold lasting white head. It’s a light gilden ale bit of body some lemon and fleshy citrus on the finish. Not great nick but flavours are ok in a lemon lime kiwi thing.

Cask gravity at the Wandsworth summer beer fest. Pale golden straw colour pour and lasting loose white head. Aroma is grassy, fatty, grainy, dirty citrus. Flavour is burnt grass, dirty citrus, some English yeast. Palate is dry, grainy tanin, wet grass. Big flavour but too rough.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, malzig, leicht hopfig, blumig. Geschmack süß malzig, leicht hopfig, Obst, leicht bitter.

330ml bottle from Selfridges, Trafford Park. One of two purchases I made in the entire shopping trip. Very fruity, hoppy taste with a rather off-putting sweetness not unlike a strange Laos lager I had once. Could only just manage a bottle of this.

330ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey golden to amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral hoppy, minimally herbal aroma; no more precision available (not a lack of words, but rather of comparable flavour experience). Taste is floral and fruity hoppy, hints of gooseberry, a bitter herbal, hoppy note, juniper and laurel approximately. ’Nice and interesting’; the meaning is like the beer, 50% with positive, 50% with pejorative connotation.
