Description
Baarle's beer brewed in the traditional way. The brewery was founded in 2007 by Monique and Ronald Mengerink. Behind their house in the Pastoor de Katerstraat they built a brewing installation with six 1000 liter lager tanks. Due to the growing success the brewing kettles moved to Gierlestraat in 2014. In January 2017, the brewery moved again to a new location in the Oordeelsestraat. With their third expansion in ten years Ronald and Monique are able to increase the capacity of the brewery to 50 hectoliters per brew and 100 hectoliters per day.

Bottle, drunk watching roommate vampires on Prime, episode 1. Medium brown, light haze, small head. Very sweet and lightly-buttery, molasses-cookies nose. Flavor is nice, warming but not biting alcohol with flavorful yeast notes. Backed up by a hint of acidity and full bitterness at the tail end, quite well balanced for thirteen percent. Very tasty one.

Bottle. Color: Dark brown, beige head. Aroma: Dark malt, spicy. notes of wood, hints of smoke. Taste: Dark andsome roasted malt, floral hop, spicy notes, some raisins, hints of chocolate and hints of citrus, slightly tart. Notes of oak wood. Moderate to over moderate sweet and bitter. Hints of smoke. Dry-ish finish. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Nice complexity. Winter warmer. No idea which barrel(s) were used, but my best guess would be Gin and maybe Bourbon??
