Can from Beer52. Dark brown pour with beige head. Aroma of citrus, light flora, roasted malt, hint of liquorice. Taste of orange zest, caramel, light roast. Its a bit on the thin side so flavour comes and goes rather quickly. Very drinkable though.

Can from Beer52. New brewery for me. Pours dark brown with nicely formed beige head. Quite a roasty aroma with cocoa dusting, wood, light smoke, sweet hints. Taste again is roasted malts, slightly rich and meaty with a drying finish but offset with a growing sweetness. Body is a bit on the lighter side and fine for a session stout but this is more of a sipping type beer taste wise and therefore doesn't quite work.

Can from Beer52. Pours black with small tanned head with modest retention. Aroma of toffee, dates, chocolate, cardamom and cinnamon. Taste of moderate roasted malt, caramel, brown sugars, spice but more undefined than the aroma, some raisin and dates, reasonable hoppy finish for the style. Medium bodied, some stickiness on the palate but then again this is based on a desert. Good.

Keg draught at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. I once walked from St Ives to Zennor, useless fact i know but what the hey. Mid-brown, a little bit thin looking with a small khaki head. Earthy smell, some creamy coffee, some chocolate and some ash. Sweet, creamy taste with a good bit of sourish bitterness in the second half of the sip. Light notes of fudge and yeast alextract in the aftertaste. Medium body? Soft carbonation. Really nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the local big Tesco. Pours clear, rich copper with a creamy, off-white head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted malts, caramel, mild pine, orange rind. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Rounded, malty finish with more nice pine, caramel malts. Tasty and drinkable.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the big Tesco at Hackney Central. Pours crystal clear gold with a creamy, white head. Light sweet flavour, some bready biscuits, subtle citrusy hops, a suggestion of pine needles. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Sweet more than bitter. Oak balance to finish.

Can online from Beer 52. Pours clear pale gold with white foam. Aroma: malt cereal, a bit metallic. Taste: light sweet & bitter, towards dry on the palate. Mild citrus. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Mundane.

12/4/2024. Cask at the 11th Isle of Man Beer & Cider Festival. Pours clear dark mahogany brown with a small foamy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, oats, vanilla, ashy nutty edge. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, average carbonation. Drying finish. Decent.
