Canned 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Cloudy orange/golden coloured, small white head, cereals and lemon in the nose. Malty, yoghurty, notes of cereals and orange peel with random touch of acidity in the finish. Drinkable but so far one of below average non macro US beers.

Canned 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Hazy orange coloured, medium sized creamy off-white head, malt and alcohol in the nose. Sweet and almost sticky malty, fruity, caramel and alcohol with slight citrusy hoppy notes. Rather dry finish. Not so fresh I think.

Tallboy can shared at a tasting, 6/8/15. Dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, roasted malts. The taste is roast, chocolate, pine, citrus, earthy notes. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness.

Amber colored, slightly hazy, low to medium strong white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, candy, some fruits, bit lemony, citrus. Taste is medium sweet caramel, candy-fruity, some citrus. Dry bitter finish. Moderately+ bitter and a lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium+ bodied, moderate carbonation. Quite bitter yet not enough hop aroma, maybe from the long trek from US to Croatia. (0,33 can, Pivoteka Zagreb)

Can. Leafy hop nose, wow I can’t remember the last time I smelled EKG. Caramel toffee nose. Rounded palate with a leafy tobacco note around a big sweet earthy malt, very light hint of roast. I remember back in the 90’s when ESBs were everywhere and this would have sat with the best of the back then, though maybe the more technical minded might be bothered by the rather obvious crystal malt sugariness.

This beer pours a slightly hazy bright yellow-gold color with a medium thick white head that dissipates gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruity yeast, malt and spice. Medium to full body with flavors of banana, caramel malt and earthy yeast. The finish is fruity up front with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Location: Can at Ri Ra- Charlotte, 1/27/15, as Wide Open Red (same description different name)

Aroma: The nose is malt forward, plenty of toffee/caramel, some herbal and fruity hops
Appearance: It pours a darker reddish color with a thick, frothy beige head
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, sweet toffee/caramel, with a fruity/herbal hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a soft-to-average carbonation, and a light dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was pretty solid. It is not a standout, but it has a balanced (slightly malt forward) flavor. Drinkable for sure.
