(Draught at Hopfenreich, Berlin, 24 July 2014) Amber colour with beige, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, mandarin and crystal malt. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, mandarin, crystal malt and a gentle citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Fresh and tasty. Quite nice.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow colour with a huge, creamy head. Has a pleasant aroma of pale malt, some sweet corn, grass, wet hay and some DMS. The flavour has an acidic touch at first with lemon tones. Towards the end there�s some hay and pale malt. Disappointing. Slick mouth feel with astringency, and has a light bitterness. The aroma was nice and balanced but the flavour is totally way out with lots of unpleasant acidic tones.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy straw colour with a medium, creamy and white head. Aroma of pale malt, hay and cooked vegetables. The flavour is not very different but has a decent, malty and a little dry ending. In addition there�s some lemon and pepper. Has a slick mouth feel and a light to medium bitterness. A malty and drinkable beer but the DMS is too present, and a strange beer in the end.

Bottle at home. The colour is slightly hazy, dark orange and has a soapy, light beige head. Well carbonated. Malty and a little sweet aroma of wet hay, tequila, danish and cooked vegetables. The flavour is similar but has more sweet malt and moist basement. Has a slick and a little watery mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A bit strange version of a berliner weisse with a light aroma and taste, and some off-flavours.

(Keg at Trommel, Berlin, 20140419) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, grain, grass and butter. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was grainy, fruity and bitter. A mediocre helles.

Bügelverschlußflasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Hellgelb, trüb. In der Nase fruchtiger Hopfen mit Noten von Grapefruit und Harz, die an ein IPA erinnern, dazu eine ganz leicht kellerige Note. Im Antrunk kräftiger pampelmusiger Hopfen mit grasiger Schärfe. Sehr vollmundig, sahniges Mundgefühl. Deutliche aber harmonische helle Malzsüße. Abgang würzig-krautig; kräftiger bitterer Nachtrunk. - Kräftiges, ausgezeichnet gehopftes und vollmundig malziges Pils, das von der Vielfalt der Hopfenaromen her etwas an ein IPA erinnert, obwohl es klar ein Pilsener bleibt.

Bottle. Interesting pilsner with the unfiltered, somewhat messy feel of a kellerbier. Nice quenching hoppiness with notes of herbs and citrus. Sweet and fruity. Would love to try it from draught one day.
