50 cl. bottle. Slightly hazy amber colour with a golden tint. Fast fading off-white head. Malty and spicy aroma with star anise, caramel malts and licorice, Taste is sweet and spicy. Medium body, thin feel and an average carbonation, Sweet and spicy finish with star anise. Too much star anise, actually. Even though Christmas is long over, and this beer is recommended by a couple of shabby comedians, it´s still to one-dimensional.

Bottled. A hazy red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of star anise, malt, caramel, and hints of hops, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Flaske 0,5l spandert av Rune og delt under rateseanse i WCveien 4 Okt 12. Aprikosfarget. Gjørmete. Kjempehissig skum som nektet å bli igjen i flaska. OK sitrusaroma. Syrlig. Ubalansert. Litt tørr syrlighet i ettersmaken.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of sugar and aniseed, reminiscent of some Danish lozenges. Richly carbonated. Bitter-sweet flavour of malt, aniseed and liquorice. Interesting, but not revolutionary.

Bottle, 5.7%. Kongen af Danmark aroma, sugar and anise. Almost clear dark copper colour. Small whitish head. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma suggests, but has some anise. Flavourful, but not a sugar bomb. Good bitterness and mouthfeel.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy amber with an off-white head. Thick star anise aroma. A little thin-bodied, subtle caramel and then again loads of star anise. Very subdued bitterness. Pretty blah. 271212

Aroma has nice licorice notes with some coffee. Flavour has soy sauce, salty licorice, ash and some vegetables. Aroma was nice but flavour is, well, not so good.

Aroma is fruity notes, gooseberry bush and berries typical to danish ales. Also distant lemon notes. Palate is way too high on CO2. Flavour has soapy citrus, some gooseberry bush and berries. Weird stuff and nothing to do with pilsner (or vienna), Perhaps a ”Danish pale ale”.
