Handpull cask at the Little Chester Alehouse. Bright gold, clear with a thin white head. The telltale smoky Hartshorn malt notes with light suggestions of tropical fruit. Sweet taste with an astringent note toward the finish. Bitter hop notes at the end forwarding to the aftertaste. Decent but fails to answer the Nelson Hop.

Handpull cask at the Little Chester Alehouse, Little Chester, Derby. Light gold, clear with a film of white head. Sweet notes of brioche, light woodsmoke, some soft citrus. Balanced smoky malt with some citrus peel leading to a medicinal finish. Massive bitter notes in the aftertaste. Full oily body, soft carbonation. Decent strong gold.

Handpull cask at the Little Chester Ale House, Little Chester, Derby. Golden yellow and clear with a tiny white head. It's low on aroma: I'm getting some hay and a little bit of lemon balm. The taste wasn't what I was expecting, with a medicinal bitterness combined with a light, almost smoky maltiness. Long dry finish with light smoked wood notes and TCP in the aftertaste. Full points for originality and I think that this is a massive improvement of boring semi-sweet goldens.

Cask at Little Chester Ale House, Derby Nose is undistinguished. Pours chrome yellow with a small transient white head. Hoops dominate in the mouth, but there are all sorts of other little bits floating around, corn, lemons, vegetable oil, raisins. Finish is bitter and hoppy. Overall pleasant but not amazing.
