Mar. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle, thanks a lot Anna for this nice gesture! It poured a hazy dark brown body with a compact big head that was stubbornly durable. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate, coffee and other roasted malt with fine herbal and orange hops. Interestingly, flavor was not too bitter, only a little bit. Roasted coffee and cocoa dominated with less intensive co-flavors of licorice and dark fruit while herbal bitterness was building up for the aftertaste. Also, other hoppy components close to herbal were here, like pine or fresh grass maybe. Medium body. Long finish, more bitter, as mentioned. A very pleasant black IPA, surprisingly complex considering its low ABV. So glad to see another awesome Vunetovo!

Jun. ’15. A 0.33 l bottle at Leopold’s, Split. More than a couple of times later, too, but this note was actually the comparison with the last year’s unrated batch. Pours a hazy golden body with an average head. Aroma is a wonderful IPA blend of typical orange and fruit with herbal spices, especially the lavender and sage. Probably other herbs from Hvar, too. Flavor is lightly bitter, of course herbal, most prominently these spices from Hvar like lavender, sage, winter savory flower, juniper, etc. Malty, wheat chalky and silky smooth base complement its body. Speaking of which, it is medium bodied brew with moderately long bitterish finish. Easily drinkable. A great improvement from the first, far less complex (and heavier if I’m right) version, with much wider variety of herbs. This is exactly what we need in Dalmatia - a unique, recognizable, almost IPA-like light and refreshing brew which took advance of these fine herbs that are obviously not so well known around. I’m out of epithets. Can’t wait for it to appear again!

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Darker amber coloured, medium sized beige head, light fruity herbal nose. Sweet malty, caramel, fruity herbal and touch of hops with sweetish finish. Also some dry honey notes. Not bad for this style which I don’t prefer to much.

On tap & presented at Craft Room. Was sad I’d missed it when it came to Tolkien’s and Leopold’s this winter, but yay for Anna for rebrewing it! This is a true beauty, a fantastic murky red-amber body with a slightly off white head. Simple, effective aroma, malt, very mild strawberry jam, vague herbal notes. Taste... it’s held up with lovely dark bread-like maltiness - subdued and a constant as the beer warned. There’s this strange, slightly vinuous, slightly herbal note (that’s not from the honey - which gave no taste) throughout that escapes clear identification, with some liking it, some not. What it most definitely is - it’s very, very drinkable, with the silky body ensuring that it’s moreish. The pub blew through both kegs (36l in total I guess) in 3 hours. It was on tap for, like, 20 minutes after I’d gotten to presenting it and it was gone - indeed, this beer’s future is virtually non-existent once it gets on tap, I don’t remember a beer with such a disappearing act. All in all, not Anna’s best or most fascinating beer, far from it, but another quality Vunetovo which doesn’t detract from their deserved reputation.

Dark brown to black colored, strong and long lasting beige head, nice lacing, overfoaming. Aroma is of some caramel malt, chocolate and strong roasted malt, some yeasty phenolic notes, light hoppy citrus. Taste is medium sweet malt, bit caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, yeasty phenolic, light citrus hops, medium+ bitterness, very dry lasting finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bit oily. Quite yeasty and almost no hops (2 bottles, same shop)... considering the rates I was expecting something more exciting. (bottle, White Mouse Booze House, Zagreb)

Finally bought it. Thanks Anna for all the effort! Drank from the bottle, sorry. I will drink it again and rerate. Heavily hopped, strong tropical aroma. Taste is bitter with very roasty flavors, tropical and other fruits, strawberry. Medium body, soft texture. Bitter finish, lasting aroma. Great!
