Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Dark, cola brown with a short-lived, beige head. Deep, roasted malts, with some plain chocolate. Flavour was deeper, with some charcoal, dark fruits, slight nuttiness and tarry, roasted finish. Very good.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Pours a pale gold with a slight haze and next to no head, looking a lot like a cider. Sweetish, grains and coriander aroma with a touch of orange peel. Easy drinking with a yeasty edge, some bubble gum, spice and a gentle finish. Good, as stated below more German than Belgian.

On keg at the Barley Mow, Bristol 13/3/2014. Golden with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Decent, grassy hops, some stone fruits and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Keg at small bar. It pours opaque deep brown with a tiny white head. The nose is spice, tangy dark fruit, bubblegum, banana loaf and almonds. The taste is bitter-sweet, banana bread, spice, toffee, bruised fruit, raisin, bubblegum and a touch of sherbet. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Well balanced and fun to drink.

On tap at the Small Bar, Bristol 6/12/2013. Deep brown with a decent, off-white head. Bananas, a yeasty edge, brown sugar, a hint of clove and gentle finish. Good.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Amber in colour with a slight haze and moderately sized white head and lively carbonation. Aroma of yeast, bubble gum and orange peel. Fairly light mouth-feel, with grainy mlats, banana and fruit gums, before a hint of spice and dryish finish. A good interpretation of the style.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Slightly hazy amber with a big, rocky, off-white head. Massive, hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruit and orange peel, plus a hint of white tea. Flavour was slightly sweet, with shortbread malts, more citrus fruit, and a hint of toastiness. Finish was dry, lingering and hoppy. Very good.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Copper coloured with a fine haze and decent, off-white head. Aroma of orange fruits with some pineapple and hint of pine. Flavour had more citrus fruit, balanced by some crisp malts and leading to a lingering, dryish finish. An excellent, US style beer.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Near black in colour, with hints of red and a thin but persistent, off-white head. Aroma of pine. plain chocolate, tangerines and roasted malts. Full-bodied in the mouth, with solid malts, some toastiness, more citrus fruit and a dryish finish, with the pine lingering on. Well-integrated and an excellent first commercial brew. Who would have thought that Yate is home to such a good brewery!
