Description
First brewed in Summer 2008. Beers under the badge "Chideock Brewery", but coming from the same source were seen in May 2012. Brewery location North End Farm, Venn Lane, North Chideok. By 2014 the brewery had ceased brewing on its own equipment while seeking new premises. In the meantime it is believed that some beers are being brewed on an occasional basis at Sherfield Village brewery. In 2016 brewing recommenced at a new location in Devon. Brewing ceased again during 2020 with production moving back to Sherfield Village.

Bottle. Dram Shop, Sheffield. Medium gold. Light haze. Skim and ring of white head. Nose has rye like spicy malt. Some ginger. Pine needle. Taste has gingery spice. Woody and earthy. Fairly dry, overall. Bit of a cloying mouthfeel, though, feeling sticky and a bit dull. Some gingery spice to finish. It’s a bit like drinking a 6% ginger beer.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Amber colour. Full haze. Sudsy, sticky, bright white head. Nose has burnt caramel. Baked citrus. On the turn strawberry. Taste is full on, baked citrus and pine resin bitter. Sticky mouthfeel. Full, long, citrus and resin bitterness to finish. There’s no shortage of hops in here, but it does come across a bit unbalanced, overall.
