Description
CRATE was established in 2012 when the Olympics were in full swing just over the canal, and Hackney Wick was changing fast. CRATE thrives on creativity, free thinking, and working hard. The experimental brewhouse is where all the Limited Edition beers are created.

Latest news November 2020:
The situation is complex, but it seems that there were two separate companies, one for brewing and one for the bar business. Both hit financial trouble, and the brewing company went into administration. Truman's, needing a new site due to delays with their new brewery, are currently brewing in Crate's old brewing space. But the website is still online and Crate beers are still available...

330ml can. Pours hazy orange with a large head. Aroma is tangerine jelly and toast. Taste is mostly citrus. Some orange and caramel on the finish.

Half-pint, keg shared with Finn at Crate Tap room. A pearl white head, clear warm golden body, lacing rings down the glass. Mid-sweet grainy malts on the nose. Subdued buttery malts to the taste profile. Prolonged ending. Smooth in the mouth. Pleasant lager. (Hackney Wick, London 28.09.2018).

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Hazy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, sourish citrusy nose. Not so strong sour taste, citrusy, herbal and slightly spicy lemony notes. Pleasant sourness in the finish and aftertaste.
