Description
CRATE was established in 2012 when the Olympics were in full swing just over the canal, and Hackney Wick was changing fast. CRATE thrives on creativity, free thinking, and working hard. The experimental brewhouse is where all the Limited Edition beers are created.

Latest news November 2020:
The situation is complex, but it seems that there were two separate companies, one for brewing and one for the bar business. Both hit financial trouble, and the brewing company went into administration. Truman's, needing a new site due to delays with their new brewery, are currently brewing in Crate's old brewing space. But the website is still online and Crate beers are still available...

Keg @ Oslo, Hackney. Near black with a thin head. It has a smoothness which is very pleasant in the palate, but is perhaps a little too carbonated. There's some roasted malts in its nose only.

Keg at MK VHX, 13/08/18. Hazed light yellow with a decent off white covering. Nose is tangy citric sherbets, lemon pissoi, damp hay, light balsa wood. Taste comprises zingy lemon, light funk, acidic ripple, citric tinged straw, apple core, on the turn melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced acidity and a light hop dusting. Solid refreshing sour for the ABV.
