CRATE was established in 2012 when the Olympics were in full swing just over the canal, and Hackney Wick was changing fast. CRATE thrives on creativity, free thinking, and working hard. The experimental brewhouse is where all the Limited Edition beers are created.

Latest news November 2020:
The situation is complex, but it seems that there were two separate companies, one for brewing and one for the bar business. Both hit financial trouble, and the brewing company went into administration. Truman's, needing a new site due to delays with their new brewery, are currently brewing in Crate's old brewing space. But the website is still online and Crate beers are still available...

[ As Crate Wild Berry Sour ].
ABV: 4.2%. Hazy - murky medium red colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, strawberry, berries, tart - sour. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, strawberry, berries, tart - sour, sweet berries. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20220802]
