Description
The Melwood Beer Company opened its doors in March 2013 by husband and wife duo John & Julie Marsden. We are having one, huge adventure!

We are based in the heart of Knowsley Park in the old Kennels that once housed Lord Derby’s gundogs.

5.0% cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Some pale malt sweetness. Some vague hop. Its ok strong blond.

Cask handpull at The Belvedere Liverpool. Clear pale gold lasting white head. quite a floral pale ale fragrant. Rose petal raspberry jam. Good condition and temperature. Some light bitterness on the finish. Decent.

Cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Clear deep gold lasting white head. Some peach fruit. Decent condition. Some hop bite on the finish. Malty pale ale with some spicy peach fruit flavour. Interesting

Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Melwood Kaleidoscope Eyes ].Clear medium yellow orange color with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, cookie - biscuit malt, sweet malt, light alcolhol. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, cookie - biscuit malt, sweet malt, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141011]

[ As Melwood Deadhead ].Light unclear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, fruity hops, earthy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, spicy hops, peppery, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141008]

Cask @ Grapes, Liverpool. Blonde with a very thin head. Has a light, but stated enough citrus fruitiness with lemon and grapefruit in here - but not sour.

Cask @ The Excelsior, Liverpool. Hopped, but not overbearing with a fuller body. Has malt in its nose too with a very light citrus fruits.

Cask @ The Excelsior, Liverpool. Clear golden with a small head. Balanced session ale with some malt, a few more hops and a light citrus bitterness.

Cask @ The Excelsior, Liverpool. Very light and easy drinking with a mild hop character, although not the best nose it has to be said. A touch dry in its taste with some malt in here.
