Beer #8 (of 19) of my 9000th Beer Celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself] Super deep dark brown and copper, rusty bronze coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying off-white head that starts at about a single centimetre and fades to just an oily layer on top after a few seconds. Aroma of nutty, earthy, malty and caramely notes with a lot of molasses and pitted fruits with some raisin and fig scents here along with a small dose of cherries and tart notes. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malty, cherry and very earthy flavours come at first with a lot of nuts and pungent malty bite with some light sweetness, but more noticeable malt, earthy and slight oaky flavours come through without much at all from the tart or pure cherry notes, which seem to be AWOL here. Aftertaste shows the earthy and super nutty flavours with a lot of earth and much more of a robust pitted fruit and sweet flavour than I expected with some pungency and a lot of dryness without any tart or pungent cherry notes that I was at least thinking would be here somewhere in the profile, but seems to be absent. Overall, a pretty poor fruit beer and not a tart or soured beer at all without much complexity or richness and only a bit of nuts, earth and especially pitted fruits that shows not much of anything else or anything worth searching for. While I'm disappointing for bringing this one all the way back from Hawai`i and keeping it for so long, I'm happy that I've finally drunk it and it's gone, but this naturally isn't worth saving, keeping or even trying to find this - it isn't good, period. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from the Liqour Collection in Honolulu, O`ahu, Hawai`i on 30-December-2015 for US$3,25 sampled at my house here in Washington for Beer #8 (of 19) of my 9000th beer celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself] on 14-September-2021.

12oz can from Hops & Bottles. Pours out dark golden, hazy, small cap of foamy head. Faint citrusy aroma. Taste is a mellow blend of bready malts and light citrus peel and oranges. Subtle, but really tasty and crushable for sure. I am going to push this score up, as it was so enjoyable. Just tasty, and hits all the right marks

Can thanks to Lizzie & Daren! Pours a hazy yellow with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a wet pine note with a bit of citrus, light mango and some crisp grass underlying. Flavor has an interesting combination of juicy citrus and slightly dry, bitter pine with a touch of mango underlying.

12 oz from a six pack from the grocery store. Aroma is cantaloupe, cat piss, grapefruit, pineapple, lightly bready. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head that falls into a ring pretty quickly. Taste is light to moderately bitter with flavors of grain, mild hoppiness. Smells better than it tastes, although it's not bad. The nice hoppy aromas present in the nose are hard to find in the taste. Not as thin or watery as I was expecting. Not bad for what it's trying to do.

Very clear golden and peach coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall pure white head that fades fairly quickly and doesn't show much movement at all in this one, despite the wax-sealed cap. Aroma of alcohol, deep malts, astringent wood, cedar and a lot of funky cherry notes with some yeast, light tartness and a dash of apple cider vinegar. Medium to Full-bodied; Super rich malt body with a lot of alcohol warmth, some relatively pungent astringent medicinal pungency that hits the yeast, grain and deep fruity notes on the high level with some lighter cherry notes that do show some tart flavours, but really, the fruits that come out are on the pure alcohol and pungent side that show bitter astringency versus complex characteristics. Aftertaste shows a lot of the cherry notes, despite most of them being on the alcohol, warmth and bitter side, but a lot of dry cedar and woods here along with the very pungent grainy and malt notes that give this a very strong malt backbone throughout. Overall, a very funky and incredibly pungent malt-forward beer with some cherry notes, but those are on the end of cough syrup and pungency versus smooth, sweet and nuanced flavours, in a less-than-great way. Still, decent enough to try after all these years, but I do wish I drank this sooner and saved some of the room in my cellar for 'better' beers. I sampled this 65 cL green-wax-sealed bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 10-March-2015 for US$15,59 sampled at my house back in Washington on 22-August-2020, close to FIVE and a half years later. This one was bottled (and signed) on 09-December-2014, almost six years prior to drinking.

12 oz. Aroma is bready, hint of mango, alcohol. Pours murky burnt orange with a one finger collapsing bone-white head. Taste has a light to moderate pithy bitterness with some moderate juicy sweetness alongside, finishing dry. Tastes better than the bland aroma let on. Flavors of orange, mango, breadiness. Pretty good.

12 oz. Aroma is citrus, vomit (fleeting), candy circus peanuts (fleeting). Pours hazy copper with a diminishing bone-white head. Taste is lightly bittersweet with flavors of orange, biscuit, nuts (not mine, though). Tastes a hell of a lot better than it smells (it smells bad initially, but it ends up smelling pretty good). Nothing wrong with the mouthfeel. Not a bad beer overall.
