Description
Four Quarters Brewing, founded in March 2014, is a 10 barrel brewery located in Winooski VT specializing in sours, stouts, and hoppy beers.

Four Quarters embodies the cycle of life that each ingredient makes on its way to your glass. A seed is carefully planted and nurtured, growing with the energy of the sun, Earth, wind, and rain. Its fruits are harvested, later the seeds, and the cycle of life starts again. Our logo, the moon phases, encapsulates this cycle, present in every living thing. When we create, we are celebrating the Earth and everything that grows within.

It is our hope, that by thoughtfully crafting each and every beer with this cycle in mind, we can pass to our drinker, not just a glass of delicious brew, but our passion, our love, and our thankfulness, for all things in our natural world. If you’re ever in Vermont, we’d love to have you come visit our taproom.

We also distribute our beer throughout Vermont, Maine, and eastern Massachusetts.

Draft from the source in a four oz. glass. Dark brown color thin head. Aroma is toasted grain, light nutty hint, mineral water, English yeast, maybe.

Flavor shows me English yeast, toasted grain, generic malts, mild nutty hint again. Texture is mildly watery, very flimsy body. I want to like it but it is very nondescript. Not bad.

Tap at the source.mNearly clear yellow, no head at all, aroma is straight sour oak, sea salt, sulfur. Sample at the source in a 4 oz. sample glass.

Flavor is light sulfur, mild oak, again salt. Damn, not a fan at all with the sulfur in the flavor. Thin body and texture. Gosh, hard to drink. Awful for me.

Tap at the brew pub. Clear pale yellow, aroma is very nice with a ton of citrus. Like oranges and lemons. Yeasty.

Flavor is pretty good, lemons, limes, oranges and a yeasty base. No bitterness and a very low carbonation level. Mouthfeel and body is just as thin as all the other beers from this place. Just really, really thin / watery texture. Serviceable to drink.

Sample at the source, dark orange in with very little head. Toasted grain, caramel, undefined fruits.

The flavor is mild toasted grain, malt resembling caramel but not really. Very mild hints of tropical fruits. Normal body and grainy texture. Drinkable but maybe just not my thing. Something is just a bit off here. Perhaps the yeast??

Tap at the brewery in a 4 oz. sample. Cloudy gold. Aroma is herbal, mint, bay leaves, grain and weak yeast.

Flavor is just like the aroma with a big herbal kick. Notes of grassy, lemon peel and pepper, possibly from the yeast. The mouthfeel is bitter in a off herbal kind of way. The body is medium with a normal carbonation level.

Hazy dark orange. Smell is fantastic. tart, lemon peel and a lot of yeast. Taste on the other hand, super herbal, strange aloe vera sort of taste, bitterness leaves a chalky sticky mouthfeel. Not a fan of the lingering taste.
