12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse. One of those uber-common beers I’ve somehow never tried. Until now! Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a medium sized creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of pale, grainy malts and herbal hops. The taste is pine, citrus and herbal hops with pale malts. Light toast. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

Nice rich, hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thin, half a centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of rich squash, light nutmeg and allspice with canella, yeast and alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Malty squash flavour at first with almost no immediate flavour that shows some light allspice and nutmeg shortly after and a little herbal notes coupled with some alcohol and a touch of yeast. Aftertaste is a bit more complex with a little caramel and a bunch more squash, but not as robust as I’d expect with the nose and the feeling of body. Overall, a nice lightish spiced squash-based beer, but a bit underwhelming compared to some of their other offerings - still always nice to try a seasonal around this time. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Red White & Bleu in Falls Church, Virginia on 23-November-2012 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 26-November-2012.

33cl bottle, cheers Sean for hauling this from PA. My Halloween 2012 beer. BB 12/2012.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 10/8/12
Aroma: The nose is herbs and spice (ginger, cinnamon, etc), with some yeasty notes
Appearance: A completely clear orange pour with a small white head (that disappears) and no lace
Flavor: The odd herbal portion that is so prevalent in the nose pretty much goes away in the flavor, as does the ginger, and the taste has a lot more pumpkin-type spices (cinnamon, allspice, etc). It is also fairly sweet for the style with a light spice hop bitterness. The flavor works much better then the nose.
Palate: The body is fairly light and a bit watery, it has a lightly fizzy carbonation, and a fairly short finish
Overall Impression: I wasn't really all that impressed with this one. Oddly, the flavor was completely different then the nose, and probably my favorite part of the beer, but overall, I just didn't feel like this one worked that well. Really though, this issue is that this one was all over the map.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a super thick, five centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of nuts, earth, caramel and a bit of funk - cardboard, too. Light to Medium-bodied; Very earthy, roasty malt flavours with a caramelised sugar flavour, some light peat, and even a bit of metal noticeable. Aftertaste is quite strong with deeply roasted malt, some nuts, burnt sugars and a lot of bitterness at the end. Overall, a strong and relatively robust porter with some good complexity and nice depth. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liqours in Washington, DC on 28-October-2011 for US$2.29 sampled at home in Washington on 07-October-2012.

Bottle at home - 13/05/12 thanks to Dave L. Mid amber colouration with a decent off-white head. Not the best nose on an IPA by a long way, slightly muted hops, a touch of citrus and some honey notes. Hops are at the fore of the taste allied to a little pine, citrus fruit and medium sweet malts. Medium bodied and slightly over carbonated.
