ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Hazy dark brown beer. Dark malt, a little sour. Light airy sourish malt beer. Decent.

26th January 2015
Old bottle. Murky brown beer, good pale cream colour head. Nice nose of sherry and tangy fruits. Palate is smooth and semi dry with fine carbonation. Taste follows the nose and adds oxidised caramel. The tangy fruits get stronger before a smooth semi dry finish. Has aged well. Nice.

[Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe] Deep amber with a small, loose white head. Nice frothy mouthfeel - excellent condition (as is always the case in this pub). Full-on fruity malts, plenty of flavour here. Sweet, but not excessively so. Decent, comforting autumnal beer. c7

Cask-conditioned at the Swan, Faringdon 24/7/2011. Pale gold with a slight white head. Light hay, citrus fruit and grassy hop aroma. Flavour had more citrus, some slightly creamy malts and a dryish finish. Fine.

Tasting at Papsø
Dark blown color with reddish hue, hazy; small head. The aroma is slightly smokey, with some roasted malt. The body is slim for this gravity, even if the flavor (caramel, chocolate and light sourness) is quite good. It’s un unfinished Old Ale, simple but quite good.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as just a bit of roasted bread. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of malt, caramel, and some lemon, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a dark reddish amber with a small, rough off-white head. Odd - yet intriguing - bonbonish aroma with a slight tartness. Medium body, low carbonation, odd notes of overripe fruit and burned caramel. Lightly tart finish with a little carbonation. 030410
