[Cask at the Alehouse,Reading.] A deep reddish chestnut pour with a scant beige head; caramel aroma; sweet, nutty caramel taste with a touch of honey and some earthy malts; then a nutty finish. Rather unctuous.

Pint at Bristol Burger. Hazy yellow golden pour, thin silky white head. Faint biscuity, bready aroma. Subtle taste, pale malts, bready, faintest of citrusy notes. Mellow, but full bodied.

Half cask at the Bridge Inn. Hazy golden pour, lasting creamy head, solid lacing. Aroma is fresh baked bread. Taste is bready and biscuity with the cask conditioning providing a thick, creamy body. Highly enjoyable.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a hazy / cloudy golden amber with a small white head. There’s floral hops in the aroma along with yeast and a hint of citrus. In the mouth there is an overall bitterness, but with some sweet underlying juiciness. Flavour has floral hops, tangerine and melon. There’s citrus in the finish, but not too much. Not my sort of beer, but not bad at all.

440ml can from Redland Stores, Bristol. Dark and cola coloured, with plenty of carbonation and a tight, beige, head. Aroma of plain chocolate and toasty malts, with some Ribena lurking in the background. Flavour began with some dark berry sweetness, before some more roasted malts and cocoa, and the advertised and sharpish tanginess in the finish. Good.
