Description
You can find Enville Brewery nestled amongst the beautiful rolling hills and valleys of the South Staffordshire countryside. Whilst stables may not be the obvious choice for most emerging breweries, Enville’s founder could see that these unused farm buildings would be the perfect, if somewhat unlikely, home for a brewery. We have have been brewing award-winning ales here in the village of Enville since 1993.

Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy light yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of ginger, while the flavor is sweet with stronger notes of ginger on a light malty back ground, leading to a dry end. Not my thing.

Cask handpull at The Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Pale gold with thick off white head. Wheat in this I think (and there is). Creamy cereal and citrus aroma. Fairly standard English wheat citrus bitter. Some farty yeast. Cereal gives it body.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. I had this many years ago at this festival and thought that it was fantastic at the time. This was less good. Black colour with dark brown edges. thin beige head. Stout/porter slightly sour aroma. Some very syrupy intense malt. Goodish juicy finish. Some good bitterness on finish. I rather like it. NIce lingering finish, but not the in your face brilliance that I remembered.

[Cask at GBBF] Very dark brown. Sweet and roasty with mild, soapy, soft malt character and light body. Some light caramel before a finish with fairly low bitterness. A well balanced quaffable mild.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] A pitch black beer with a small orange head. The aroma is sweet and slightly roasted. The flavor is quite roasted, but also with slight sulphury notes as found in some Milds, and also slight notes of chocolate. The end is very dry and roasted.

Cask gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Hazy gold, some diacetyl, quite fresh on aroma but then deadish pale malt. Some tangy fruit, followed by more butterscotch. Finish is citricly focussed. Not sure it was ready or in the best of conditions
