Description
In November of 2011, Mary Wolf, and her son Danny, renovated a 100 year old Nelson County schoolhouse into a restaurant, built an adjacent brewery, and began the story of Wild Wolf Brewing Company. Mary, a business-savvy entrepreneur, takes care of the business, and Danny, a formally educated Brewmaster, oversees production of an ever-expanding portfolio of award-winning ales and lagers. We now distribute cans, and kegs throughout the entire state of Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Our current portfolio includes six year-round beers, over a dozen rotating and seasonal beers, and occasional single-batch creations.
We are located in the heart of Virginia’s Brew Ridge Trail, on Nelson County’s scenic Rt. 151, minutes from hiking trails, orchards, wineries, distilleries, and lodging. We’re very proud of our beautiful setting in little Nellysford, Virginia. Our dog-friendly shaded biergarten, with koi pond and fountain, is the perfect place to enjoy pints and lunch (weather permitting). Weather not so great? Check out the four-season pavilion!
Our on-site event center with fully equipped kitchen is ready to host your next private event in a beautiful rustic-chic space. Our Event Coordinator will help plan weddings, rehearsal dinners, special parties, and corporate events. With seating for up to 140, outdoor space in our beautiful courtyard, private bathrooms, and much more, our Event Center is the perfect place for a special day.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, relatively quick-dying tan head that only shows a centimetre tall off-white head on top. Aroma of bunches of very fresh strawberries, light malt, a touch of toffee and earth and a dose of toasted malt - very nice aroma, perhaps one of the best fruit beers i've smelt in a while - all strawberries! Light to Medium-bodied; Good balance of roasted malt, a touch of coffee and cacao/chocolate and a bigger dose of strawberries with a big hit of sugars and toasted malt at the same time. Aftertaste shows some chocolate and coffee notes with a grassy and earthy finish along with a dash of grain and bitterness at the tail end. Overall, a very nice and incredibly balanced fruit beer with a good and very fresh strawberry flavour and only a dash of the more pungent and noticeable caramelised and toasted malt. Nice to sample and definitely worth a try, especially if you can find it, otherwise it may be worthwhile to try to find this one, if you can, as it is very good, especially for the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Springfield, Virginia on 15-December-2017 for US$5,49 sampled at home in Washington on 07-January-2018.

Keg at Sedona. Let's see how the 3rd best brewery on 151 interprets a NEIPA. Slightly hazy golden, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of tropical fruit, pale malt. Taste is mango, papaya, spice, pale malt. Medium bodied. A little boring and could use more refinement but nevertheless solid.

$1.99 can from Whole Foods. Pours murky purple with a small off-pink head. Aroma is tart fruit - supposedly blackberry but I can't tell that by nose alone. Flavor is tart berry, green leaves, bread, cheap lager undertones. Lots of fruit - has a weird vibe to this.

12 ounce can. Clear amber, thin fizzy off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of grain and corny notes. Mild grass. The taste is toasted grain, mild hops. Thin, faintly astringent, overly sweet. Meh.

Can from Kroger, I believe. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of green pepper, citrus peel, hint of sugar. Flavor is light vanilla, sweet caramel, citrus rind, light green pepper. A little thin, but that's to be expected for a session I suppose.
