473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Mild, sweet aroma of roasted malt, hazelnut, cocoa and earth. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, lactose, hazelnut, earth and day old coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

Russel Brewing Hazy South African IPA 5% Saw this on sale and when I realized they were from Canada, I had to get at least one of their cans! Nice golden orange haze with decent foam, the juicy hop bouquet is a bit subdued. Is that the South African hops or age? Mostly orange julep type juicy aroma. The taste is the same but has a somewhat astringent finish and at times I even get hints of butteriness. Long in the tooth ok, fresh it’s probably good. Body is a bit light for the style in my book but a decent beer from a new to me brewery.

473ml can. Pours a hazy magenta with a medium, fizzy, short lived, pink head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, lime, blueberry, faint cherry and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of wheat malt, lime, cherry, blueberry and floral hops in a dry, tart finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Lime dominates over the other two adjuncts, but is still refreshing and fun. A good summer beer to crush in the heat.

Weak gold body with bad foam. Smells of faint honey with some sweet grain. Taste is vague honey and grain, ends smooth. Okay but pretty characterless.

Murky pale red colour. Raspberry aroma. Sweet flavour, smooth mouthfeel; raspberry vlavour, with a touch of vanilla, some cream/milk from the lactose. Not bad.

Poured from the tap. Dull purple with just a minimal ring of white head. Mostly lime with just a feint hint of blueberry, not picking up cherry at all. Roughshod.

Pours bright stormy yellow with very good white foam. Soft passionfruit aroma, citrus, a little too subdued. Taste is refreshing passionfruit, slightly sweet and tart, definitely not sour. Smooth, good carbonation. Adequate.
