Can. Almost clear amber with a small white head. Piny aroma with biscuit, grapefruit, grass. More boiled lolly than biscuit really before citrus and some pine come to the fore at the fairly bitter finish. Maybe didn't travel well.

Good solid bleach white foam on a clear medium gold body, minimal visible carbonation. Smell is smooth and clean fruity hops, not as bright as it could be. Flavour is muddled, soft grain, sweet and a little wet. Slight floral finish. Clean and drinkable but lacking good character.

The aroma is mild, chocolate and almost no coconut. It drinks like a strong Brown Ale, with light residual sweetness, mix of cacao and chocolate, no coconut, getting quite thin in the finish.

Dark brown colour. It's a bit thin and dry for an Imperial Stout, but it has some decent qualities, of a robust Brown Ale, some chocolate, and tiny amount of coconut.
May be disappointing if thinking of it as an Imperial Stout, but overall it's a decent beer.

16oz on Alex's deck. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: hm, where... is... the... f#$%ing 🥥?! Some weird herbal notes (that's a coconut?!) with roasted malts. Barrel? What's that? Taste: along the same lines. Overall: meh.

Pours dark brown with quite modest foam. Good chocolate and hazelnut on the nose but not especially bright or deep. Flavour brings out better hazelnut, sweet chocolate, built on a dry finish and okay carbonation. Adequate but this could easily be so much better.

Can. Dark brown. Not much head...kind of went up quick and down even faster. Has that thin sort of hollowed out malt smell. On the palate, it's got a little bit of body, which is more than the nose previewed. But it's definitely light (at 7.8%) for something billed as an imperial stout. The flavour is sweet, for sure, but it's pretty bland. Maybe some dark sugar. A hint of roast or coffee. Not getting much in the way of either coconuts or barrel. I mean, a BA coconut impy should be rich, decadent and hedonistic. Russel has held back - quite a bit - on this one. That timidity doesn't serve this beer well.
