Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, citrus peel - zest, pineapple. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, peel - zest, citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150227]

Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is citrus, fruits, some floral notes, resin and mild pine. Flavour is fruity, floral, wooden and some bready and quite sweet maltiuness to it. Bodied, but still easy to drink.

It pours a huge white head over an almost clear golden body. The aroma is very fruity, with pine cones and some resins. Grapefruit too, and a little malty touch. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with resins, grapefruit and pine cones. Full to medium body with a nice carbonation level. Dry. A touch of pale malts as a backdrop. Lasting hop dominated finish. Not the most complex beer I’ve had, but it’s very tasteful and easy drinkable. 150227

The appearance was a decent looking hazy orange color with a glazed over light brown to it. The head was about a finger’s worth. It quickly dissipated leaving barely any lacing.
The smell had a fairly strong smokiness but not much else.
The taste was mainly smokey and allowed a slight warming sweetness to arise. A light sweet and sticky smokey aftertaste came about.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and somewhat good for the smoked style.
Overall, yup, this is definitely a smoked beer. Marzen, not enough caramel malts, still worthy of coming back to.

Slightly hazy color. Beautifully frothy white head. Saviogn blanc drenched over grapefruits. Heavenly sweet. Smooth, sweet, lacks a bit of bitterness but still lovely approachable pale ale. Decent but a bit too heavy and sweet for my ideal pale ale.
