Can shared in London - thanks to Male Ales. Pours rich brown with a frothy, thick tan head. Good snout, some notes of chocolate, grapes and pine. Medium sweet flavor, lots of charred malts, rich cocoa, pine, earth, ripe orange. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish with more chocolate, grape, orange, some pith, burnt wood, earth. Solid.

Bottle from CCB. Pours opaque black, large creamy brown head, dissipates very slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is lightly funky, roasty, coffee, a bit of cardboard. Flavor is roasty, dry, light bitter, very lightly tart with a bit-o-funk Medium body, some acidity. Lingering bitter finish. Nuff said.

Can from AlesByMail.co.uk. Dark golden, slightly hazy body, with a big, stable, creamy, white head. Aroma of pine needles, grapefruit, peach, mango, passion fruit, some berries, grass, caramel. Taste with about the same aromas, but less fruity and very resinous instead. Mouthfeel is medium to light, slick, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes bitter, slightly dry and with some sweet malts. Tasty! A straight, piney and resinous DIPA, that isn’t that complex, but with a excellent balance between hops and malts. The ABV isn’t really noticeable and it balances the quite strong hop bite with a lighter body and great drinkability pretty well.

Can from AlesByMail.co.uk. Orange to amber, moderate hazy body, with a big, creamy, white head. Very fruity aroma of citrus, orange, apricot, passion fruit, berries, resin, some pine. Taste with the same fruity aromas and a tasty malt backbone of biscuit, caramel, honey. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with grapefruit, grass, some pine and many fruit notes again. A tasty, lighter bodied IPA with a wonderful fruitiness and a greatly balanced malt backbone. The dryness in the finish makes it even easier to drink. Excellent!

Can, shared at the satellite 10K tasting CBC Clerko thanks to Fergus, 19/08/14. Lightly hazed golden with a good sized off white head that retains. Nose is bitter orange, straw, citric peel, grapefruit vibes, light pine - great fresh smelling IPA. Taste comprises melon, light mango, orange pith, straw, pine, bitter citric rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Solid IPA - really enjoyed this one!

Can from Marketplace Alehouse and Deli, Doncaster. Clear, amber colour. Sticky film of white head. Fusty, orange hop. Some light herb, along the lines of basil. Taste is toffee sweet, first, then light bitter. Nice, chewy, light oily palate. Finishes long, light bitter. Nice pale ale that punches above its weight.
