Beautiful, comfortable little pub o Spike Island, not far from the cross river ferry. Dark green walls, dark wooden furniture give it a homely feel. Beer aelectionaint bad: three casks on gravity (St Austell, Otter, Electric Bear) with a few kegs of core beers by local craft (Arbor, Wiper & True). But you're here for the cider. There's about 15 still ciders keptat perfect cellar temperature. This is the teal stuff, mostly from nearby cideries. I chose a medium which turned out quite sweet. No less gorgeous but if you like yours dry, make sure you choose a dry one! Worth the trek out and then some.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Light gold, clear, a very small film of white head. Earthy notes in the aroma, coriander, light lemons, very light funk. Tastes of sweet spice with an acute bitterness nearer the finish. Light to medium body, spritzy carbonation. A shade subtler than your run-of-the-mill saison.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from RAD Beer and drunk at home. Very light gold, hazy, no head. Interesting aroma with white grapefruit, melon, mint, a touch of banana. Sweet taste, melon more to the fore with sugared lime, slight notes of mastic. It’s very boozy for the ABV. Light bitterness at the finish with bitter orange in the aftertaste. Light body, medium carbonation. Really grows on me.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from RAD Beer and drunk at home. Light gold and quite hazy with a thin film of off-white head. Sweet aroma, some grapefruit, melon, mango. Oaty.sweet taste, more tangerine here, with generous bittering hop in the later half of the sip.medium body with not a lot of carbonation. Very enjoyable NEIPA, subtle without dialling back the intensity, if that makes sense.
