You could pass the Lime Kiln and not even clock it. On its own down a quiet street, the modern frontage belies a very traditional setup. Inside, you have two rooms separated by an open doorway. Now, the beer. Six casks, mostly local and sessionable (they like their Downlands here). Five keg also from mostly local breweries Bristol Beer Factory, Wiper and True). Plus a few ciders, it’s Bristol after all. Cask condition is amazing. A less celebrated stop but worth checking out.

You have to enjoy pubs that are boats. Or boats that are pubs. This one is a bit gimmicky but certainly worth a visit. Mind the steps and enter into a cider haven, with 8 proper still ciders. There's a few local beers on keg, and lots of cider bottles in the fridge, so you're almost certai to find somethimg you love. While no match for the Orchard Inn on Spike Island, or the queen of pub boats (the Charters in Peterborough) there are some damn good ciders here. Recommended.

Spacious brewpub, it gives warehouse dystopia vibes but right atvthe heart of Bristol. Very popular. You can't fault the selection: there are about 25 beers, most if not all LHG Brewpub, with a can=bottle fridge to die for. It is efficient as opposed to friendly, and very expensive for what it is. So, yes, it's a brilliant brewpub, but maybe not one of the best venues in Bristol when everything is weighed up.
