Keg draught at LHG Brewpub, Bristol. Light-ish gold, clear with a small uneven white head and loads of visible carbonation. Floral aroma, some white grape, pink grapefruit, dried grasses. Sweet taste with a bitter bite taking hold halfway through the sip. Dry finish with an intense bitter aftertaste. Light body with heavy carbonation. A decent if not exemplary Pilsner.

Handpull cask at the Gryphon, Bristol. Dark brown and a little translucent. Uneven beige/khaki head. Malty aroma, light liquorice and blackberry. Sweet taste with a sourness on the comedown. Horehound in the aftertaste. The oddness makes it less enjoyable but its OK all in all.

Hard Rock pub whose spit and sawdust demeanour belies a very decent beer choice. I love this music, so I'm happy to hang out in a slightly dingy venue with three cask and about four decent keg. Most of the beers are local, although I've found a beer - a mild no less - from South Yorkshire's Blue Bee. A shitload of craft cans behind the bar. The only drawback is the price. Its very expensive even for Bristol. But if you're only having a bit then you'll get away with your mortgage stillintact. A decent if not essential Stop. Did I mention the music was great?

Keg draught at the Three Tuns, Bristol. Lightish gold, hazy with a good layer of white head. A bit of layered lacing. Malty aroma, a little grape and lime. Taste is sweet but balanced, a little musty which is odd. More bitterness in the finish. Light body with slightly lower than one would expect carbonation. A little disappointing for BBF but refreshing enough.

Pretty quiet and chill pub. It's got one room but a heated terrace, wonderful for winter, also awaits. Two casks, two ciders and five kegs from Bristol Beer Factory are available as well as an Arbor. Two still ciders. No food but you can bring your own in. I like it, it's a decent little venue and incredibly friendly, but it lacks the amazeballs quality of the best Bristol pubs. Stick this place in Stoke and it'd stand out a bloody mile. Worth checking out.

Amazing place with at least four cats who are pretty chill with being here wonderful old-fashioned vibe. But very student friendly. It's small and gets well crowded bit it is worth it for the beer: about 5 cask and five keg with a few proper ciders as well. Very very good taste in music. And cats. What a wonderful pub!!

Handpull cask at the Bag O' Nails, Bristol.amber and clear with a small beige head and plenty of lacing. Sweet, malty aroma, notes of pine and forest floor. Sweet taste, malty with a nice little bit of bittering hop later on. Clean finish. Light body with minimal carbonation. Nice little beer,

Still at the Orchard Inn, Spike Island, Bristol. Medium to dark gold, cloudy with some bubbles around the edge (does cider have head?) Light sugary appley aroma. Taste is fairly sweet, good apple fang, some musty notes. Full chewy body with no carbonation. A very very good cider.
