Whisper it, but this is a nice place. More spacious and comfortable than the West End taproom, this has that typical warehouse-y taproom feel without having to trudge to an industrial estate. And the choice isn't impossible. 7 Innis & Gunn beers on Tap plus four more available packaged. A few gusts including two Inveralmonds and three Campervans, but my guess is that repeated custom would see a diminishing return of ticks. And then here's the issue of the beer itself: I've had some decent beers from Innis & Gunn but some serious stinkeroos as well. So worth trying but I'd imagine few would call this their regular.

Draught at the Stereo, Glasgow. Mid-gold and hazy with a small film of white head and good lacing. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple, papaya on the nose. Taste is mostly sweet with a slight wheat sourness in the latter half of the sip. Chalky aftertaste. Medium body with carbonation slightly on the heavy side. Decent for what it is, if somewhat artificial.

Draught from the city centre taproom, Glasgow. Brownish red, translucent with a small beige ring of head and uneven lacing. Woody, rye-spicy aroma. Sweet taste with sweet spice, white pepper, and a dry finish with a medicinal bitterness. Very heavy carbonation. Nice to find an Innis & Gunn I like well enough although it is a bit one dimensional.

Rraught keg at the Raven, Glasgow. Pours amber/red and hazy with a small uneven ring of pinkish/beige head and uneven lacing. Light raspberry aroma but not kuch here. Sweet taste with a little but of sourness in the finish. More berry on the tongue in the aftertaste. Light body with good carbonation. Pretty good, not really remarkable but does the job.

This is my second trip to Glasgow so my place rating is mopping up a lot of places I didn't get to before plus a couple new places. So with a couple of exceptions it's been a bit disappointing.but the Raven is something else. Goin in, it looks and feels like any old pub, a bit laid back and students. But it is a proper beer bar with three cask beers and eight proper keg: four from the Cold Town brewery and four guests. I went for a Stewarts that I'd jot tried on keg. It was a good beer with a decent price. Very pleasantly surprised by this bar.

Not a beer barbper se with over 1000 Whiskies, but the Pot Still still has one of the better Beer selections (small though it may be) around the city centre. Four cask beers, usually sessionable but in perfect nick, from Scottish breweries like Fierce and Stewart. Not all usual suspects either; you'll get ticks.and then there's the Whiskies but that's for another day. As it is one smallish room it can get insanely crowded in the evening. Prices are insanely low.

Cask at the Pot Still, Glasgow. Dark brown. Close to black with a small beige head. Light roast malt aroma, touches of coffee, blackberry, ash. Sweet taste with a slightly sour dryness on the finish. More fruit and ash here. Light body with soft carbonation. Nice.
