Very different from its Goat Major incarnation although the inside is similar (sadly with the Goat Major pictures removed). No longer a Brain's pub but the added choice of breweries doesn't really mean better beer. My VoG was pretty average and a massive short pour. Feels more like a High Street pub than something special now.

16 ounce can. A gift from my wonderful wife (I think she goes to Friends of Ham in Leeds but wouldn’t swear to it). Light to mid gold, hazy with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of apricot and melon, a little bit of papaya. Sweet, lots of tropical fruit and vanilla on the fore. Nice hop bitter aftertaste with citrus on the aftertaste. Extraordinary DIPA.

400ml can bought from the Queens Road Tap and drunk at home. Purplish brown, a little translucent with a small foamy off-white head. Flowery aroma, somewhat artificial plum. Sweet taste, lots of plum up front with a notably bitter taste in the finish. Light suggestions of blueberry and liquorice. Body on the lighter side, medium carbonation. A bit odd but likeable enough.

Decent enough little micropub about five minutes' walk from Bulwell tram stop. It's a one-room pub, set out modern trad (bordering on twee but still acceptabme) with a sizeable patio out front. Beers not up to all that much - three cask beers from local breweries - but it's in good condition and you'll likely get ticks. I wouldn't make a special stop but if you happen to be passing by then you may wish to stop in for a half.

500ml bottle from the brewery’s stand in Stowmarket. Light reddish brown and clear with a tiny swirl of off-white head. Malty annd woody aroma, caramel light character of raisin. Bittersweet initial taste, strong Marmite on toast character. Bitter as hell finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Not my vibe exactly but well made for what it is.
